This started off strong but pretty immediately fizzled for me.


CW's: cancer - the fmc receives a cancer diagnosis at the beginning of the book then there is a flash-forward to several months later where she is in remission, death of a parent from cancer ( )

Had to to think about how I felt about this book. I liked it, but I still feel like a lot was missing from the narrative that, in the end, made it unsatisfactory as a whole. Not to get into the whole argument about the definition of "romance" and "erotica" but in my personal opinion this book falls firmly into the later category. I never felt like I got a grip on the relationship itself because most of their milestone moments came during sex. I'm really not even sure that their HEA will work since we rarely saw them outside the bedroom. Didn't really get why the two were attracted to each other to begin with except for the sex. Yeah, it was a nice read and I understood where the author was going, but in the end I just didn't connect with it. I did like how the author explored a serious cancer plot line in a way I haven't seen it before in modern romantic fiction though.

TLDR: More sex than character arc, but still a good read. ( )

Had me hooked from the first chapter right till the end. Was really disappointed that duty to my family and work kept me from reading the book as quick as I wanted to. ( )

I liked this book, I didn't love it.

The love story between Joy and Everett is so damn sweet. I loved it. Maybe he is a bit too perfect, though. He is all sugar and love, but in the bedroom he is totally dominating. Almost every encounter they have starts with him restraining her. Now, I don't mind that at all...but I just didn't buy it about him. The way he acted in the bedroom didn't match his personality outside of the bedroom. Outside of that, the story was great, the sex was steamy and the love was palpable...especially from Everett.

A sweet, short HEA that is worth reading. ( )

This book is part of a series called One Night of Passion.
They are stand alone books but you get more of couples you have read about.
I read the first chapter at the end of Captured by you and was hooked.
I was a bit disappointed in Joy's description or should I say lack of, I couldn't get a mental picture of her however Everett she was throughly described down to his skin. Besides my sad vision of Joy it really is a hot steamy juicy book. Joy is so guarded and I could totally see where she was coming from as I think I may be the same way if I was in her shoes. It's a sad lonely road that Joy is on and Everett is just the man to break thru to her and
change her mind on the path she has chosen.
Will she listen? well you have to read it I can't spoil it for you.
Definintly a page turned with a lot of Hot Sex throughout!
Ending was Fabulous!

I would love to hear your thoughts about the ending however.
There is a statement made by Everett that makes be believe a seed was planted. He also makes another statement at the very end but nothing is confirmed so I am not sure Arggh.
I don't want to give it away but pay attention!
