First Crossing was an interesting story about how a boy and his father crossed the border in an attempt to make money to support the family. It was a realistic account that was based on a true story.

A young Mexican makes his first crossing into the United States, hidden under the hood of a van. A Korean adoptee discovers her dream of tracing her heritage isn't all it's cracked up to be. And a Palestinian Quarterback struggles to prove himself on an "all-American" football team. These stories and others show the challenges of adapting to a new culture, while at the same time stretching Americans' views of ourselves and our society. (High school)
