"Every time Andra Stone crosses paths with Everett Covington, trouble follows. First she loses her scholarship, then she loses the apartment she'd wanted more than anything. But tragedy hits hardest when she loses her grandmother--the best friend Andra has ever known. She determines that Everett is a talisman of ill fortune. When Everett comes to work in her hospital and is applying for the same position she'd been working toward since residency, Andra believes him to be her personal poltergeist. The human heart has four chambers--four chances to get it right. Andra has only one chance left."--Back cover.… (mais)

From the first page I was hooked. I know I’m not the only one who has ever wanted to vandalize a cheating boyfriend’s car right? It took me right back to my crazy college days and I instantly identified with Andra and her struggles on the road to pursuing her dreams. The on again off again romance between Andra and Everett was sweet and frustrating and everything in between. Julie’s writing style is wonderful in how she pulls you into the characters world. I could see these characters and truly relate to what they were going through. Once I started reading I could not put it down and finished the book within hours of starting it. Don’t you love stories like that? I could see me reading this again which doesn’t happen that often for me. Highly recommend! ( )

I received my copy of this eBook in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This novel was ADORABLY sweet! In [b:Four Chambers|26255162|Four Chambers|Julie Wright|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1442375605s/26255162.jpg|46253112], [a:Julie Wright|143445|Julie Wright|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1316646745p2/143445.jpg] delivers a story that will warm your heart, through and through. This book is part of the Power of the Matchmaker series, of which I have read one other offering [b:Not Always Happenstance|28005986|Not Always Happenstance (Power of the Matchmaker)|Rachael Anderson|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1448764995s/28005986.jpg|46300363], in which Miss Pearl plays supernaturally talented matchmaker to her predestined couples spouting Chinese (and Swedish, etc...) proverbs on love and fate. This time it is Andra Stone and Everett Covington who will be her challenging pair, though this one worked a little differently than I was expecting from the series, which made it a little less predictable in the end than I thought.

The story starts in Andra's final undergraduate year at Boston College, in fact it starts as she has decided to spray paint 'TOOL' across the pick up truck of her lying, cheating, now-ex boyfriend Greg with her best friend Janette trying to talk her down from her sleep deprived thoughts. Here is where we first meet Everett, as well. It was really sweet and I was thinking by the end of the 'First Chamber' that the aspiring heart surgeons were going to be an issue. Julie Wright had created characters that were so clearly attracted to each other, how could she possibly make this book last another couple of hundred pages???? Everett survived meeting her family, was loved by both her brother and her Grams (the only people who's opinions really mattered to her), and he was clearly perfect for her, where could there possibly be any point in going on any further? Enter the angst and conflict!!! I should have known better, because up until that moment they were too perfect and we had yet to see Miss Pearl at all!!

Believe it or not, we don't actually see Miss Pearl, or at least Andra doesn't see Miss Pearl until further along in the story. Everett is the first recipient of Miss Pearl's attentions but Andra is the one that really needs the convincing that she could have the career she wanted and the love that she craved and was denying with Everett. In fact it takes them a little more than a decade and four times where they had stumbled into each other's lives to finally get it right.

This book was a clean, sweet romance and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking for a quick diversion. The writing is clear and expressive, and really the only downfall is that the idea that the love she needed was right in front of her the whole time, she just didn't really realize it nor make room for it until the end was super predictable from the onset of the novel. 4 stars! Miss Pearl makes her appearance in this book a little later into the story, yes I was awaiting her appearance, but she is here and doing her magic, or was she?
Andra Stone is a girl with a mission; she wants to become a heart surgeon, just like her father, but without her families support. Her life is studying, she places learning above anything, she has no time to socialize or date. As the story opens we find that she has let her guard down, but being cheated on and acting out about it, will have devastating consequences for her. The only good thing to come out of her actions is finding Everett, Everest without the “S”, and a roller coaster relationship that lasts years.
We find Everett has the same goals as our Andra, or Andrea without and “E”, but we also see him letting her down. Both seem to come from dysfunctional families, but each also has members that you are going to love.
Another good addition to the Power of the Matchmaker series!
I received this book through Inspired Kathy, and was not required to give a positive review. ( )
