He also needs to find out how he got Killed. I think I liked Good Dog because It was really sad but somehow It turned out good in the end. I really liked the style of writing. When I read it I felt as if I was in the story. This book tells the story of Brodie, a dog who is very loyal to his boy, after he finds himself in transitional world between heaven and Earth. Although this world has everything any dog could ever want, the only thing Brodie wants is to return to Earth and be with his boy again. I gave this book five stars because I think the story is very heartwarming shows the loyalty that all dogs have to their owners. This is a great book to read in an English classroom because most children love animals and will surely love a story about a dog that loves his owner so much he would rather live on Earth with him then live in a heaven with everything he could ever want and more. Characterization: Okay Merit: Okay Level: middle school Recommended: Yes This is a good book for middle school readers or late elementary. This is a dark book in that there are dog fights and abusive relationships. Brodie the dog, has died, but cannot rest because his human is not safe. If he was safe, Brodie could relax in the afterlife. Brodie goes back to help the boy, Aiden, risking all for him and going up against demon dogs. *I requested and received an advanced-readers copy from Scholastic. All opinions are my own. Told from the perspective of Brodie, a dog that just passed on. This is a touching tale about a dog who cannot move on in the after-life until he knows his boy, Aiden, is safe. Brodie returns to the "alive" world with his friend, Tuck. Together they encounter many trials and tribulations as they search for Aiden. Will Brody make it to Aiden before his soul is gone forever? Wow. Author Dan Gemeinhart does it again. Dog-lovers will devour this gripping, heart-wrenching story. Brodie is a dog who sacrifices EVERYTHING for his boy. Even when Brodie encounters dogs that are just plain evil, he stops at nothing to save his boy Aiden. Beautifully written, Brodies' love for Aiden will stay with you long after you finish the book. This is my ten-year-olds second favorite book of all time. I recommend it for grades three and up. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
Brodie was a good dog. And good dogs go to heaven. Except Brodie can't move on. Not just yet. As wonderful as his glimpse of the afterlife is, he can't forget the boy he left behind. The boy he loved, and who loved him in return. The boy who's still in danger. So Brodie breaks the rules of heaven. He returns to Earth as a spirit. With the help of two other lost souls -- lovable pitbull Tuck and surly housecat Patsy -- he is determined to find his boy and to save him. Even if it costs him paradise. Even if he loses his eternal soul. Because it's what a good dog would do. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
