Quite humorous Between the word play a few awful puns and some absurdist fantasy, there is a real story...somewhere in there. A farce in wrapped in clever clothing. On the bad side, I *did* lose interest 3/4s through. There are at least five different parties wandering loose in the narrative, making it a bit disjointed once they all got moving. Well this was interesting. The author of one of my favorite sci-fi/comedy series decided to try a fantasy/comedy series that features Clunk, the robot from his sci-fi series, crashing on a planet that is pretty much a stereotypical fantasy kingdom. After reading volume one of the trilogy, I'm not sure if Clunk has somehow ended up in an alternate reality, or if there will be some technobabble explanation as to why magic works on this planet, or what. I generally enjoyed the book. It was a funny parody of the stereotypical fantasy. However the puns were a bit too much. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
Pertence a SérieRobot vs Dragons (1)
Imagine being trapped...in a primitive land of dragons and warring kingdoms...... as a robot. Clunk's lost his memories. He doesn't know who he is or where he came from. And there's nowhere to get a recharge. But fear not, because Clunk is resourceful and intelligent. He won't let marauding dragons, a bloodthirsty queen and a vengeful champion get in his way. Not even the whopping great cast of minor characters all vying to become major players. But how's Clunk going to escape this medieval madness? How's Clunk going to get home? You'll love this hilarious blend of sci-fi and fantasy, because Clunk is like a mild-mannered Terminator ... except even more stubborn. Get it now. "An insane, inspired blend of high fantasy and low humor" "Game of Thrones meets Discworld" "Laugh after laugh. One of the best books I've read in 2018 so far. Amazing, 5*"This is the first novel in a trilogy. Each book continues plot lines and character arcs from the previous title, with everything wrapping up in book three. They're not stand-alones!
