Love the cutaway illustrations showing the rabbit family's burrow and the expressions on father rabbit's face. It has a fun story showing what's going on above ground and underground. Granny is worried because her little chicken doesn't seem to be laying eggs and Granny needs them for her grandkids' egg hunt. Below, a mouse has told the bunnies that their father is the Easter bunny and poor father rabbit can't convince them otherwise. There is a happy ending for everyone. Lorna Balian's illustrations contain lots of fun details, from the cover that shows father rabbit reading a book that has a cover of a father rabbit reading a book and repeating on (for some reason, repeating covers like that intrigue kids) and the pretty painted skies remind me of dyed Easter eggs.
