I think 100 pages could have easily been shaved off. However, the story was interesting enough. ( ) This is a lovely Christmas story about Meg, a portrait artist, who comes to Lancastershire for the holidays to paint the portraits of a distinguished older couple. She's settling in quickly when she realizes that their nephew Lex is a man with whom she has an unhappy past. There was a huge misunderstanding that was never resolved between them. Fortunately, among the clan invited for the holidays is enough people to act buffers and to soothe the way for reconciliation. With a little work and a lot of holiday cheer, Meg and Lex overcome their past differences to find something more. A lovely holiday story. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
'Like a nice mug of mulled wine in book form!' Good Housekeeping The #1 Christmas novel from Sunday Times bestselling author Trisha Ashley Meg is definitely not in the Christmas mood. She's never gone in for tinsel, baubles and mistletoe, and right now she's still getting over an illness. Yet when she's invited to spend the run-up to Christmas in the snowy countryside, rather than dreary London, she can't refuse. Arriving at a warm and cosy family home in a small hilltop village, Meg soon begins to wonder what a proper Christmas might be like. But just as she's beginning to settle in, she spots a familiar face. Lex. Despite the festive cheer, Meg suddenly wants nothing more than to get as far away from him, and their past secrets, as she can. But if she stays, could this be the year she finally discovers the magic of Christmas...?
