If you’re a fan of fantasy fiction like me, you definitely need to check out S.G Blaise’s ‘The Last Lumenian’ series. Following on from the first in the series where the main character Lilla discovered her true purpose, to lead an army to protect the Seven Galaxies, Lilla must convince the Teryn’s to hand over control of their army to fight against the Archgod of Chaos and Destruction.

In the second book of the series, you see how much Lilla has grown, taking control of her destiny. She is strong, self-assured, and determined, but will this be enough for her to find the mythical Heart Amulet? Trapped in a strange world and the threat in the Seven Galaxies ever-growing, will Lilla prove that she has what it takes to be a Sybil?

Expect plenty of magic and mystery, fantasy and fear, as well as a development of the romance between Lilla and Callum. A well-rounded and gripping science fiction novel, although to get the most out of it, I would recommend reading ‘The Last Lumenian’ first, but it’s not absolutely necessary. ( )

I like the writing style in book 2 better than the first and I loved the first one. Now having said that there’s a lot to unpack so let me just say theres magic, love, racism and one bad ass female. Layla has to find the amulet but there’s so much working against her and then it’s either going to be put up or shut up. Can Layla deliver when it seems so many or against her? Read the book and find out. There is so much to Love about this book and to give a summary is something I am not equipped to do just know if you love magic, an alternative universes,great world building and wonderful characters Then you’ll definitely love this book. For me the dialogue and characters are what made True Teryn a most enjoyable read. In fact I forgot I was reading a book at times as I was so absorbed in it all. Sometimes the elements that make up a good book can all seem to be there but somehow it still doesn’t click, but this was a book that, for me, excelled in all areas. The characters of the book are well rounded and engaging, with the heroine, in particular, luring the reader in. Even the secondary characters are well developed, with none of the predictability and cliche that you find in some fantasy novels. This is an excellent read, with heaps of adventure, excitement, and intrigue. The writing style is easy to follow, while also being clever and even comical at times. Definitely recommended. ( )

I’ve been so enmired in Horror and non-fiction books lately it’s refreshing to get out of our version of the world and into one of the gods, goddesses, and unbelievable events. Blaise does a great job painting the world scape, keeping book two of her series true to style. I like the idea that for Lilla to succeed, she has to quest and gain an army, all in the name of saving the world.

Lilla is an impressive, strong female lead that continues her message from the first book: this princess doesn’t need saving. I’m delighted with how well Blaise fleshed this character out.

It’s been a couple of years since I read the first one, but I’m happy I have this one on hand (and the next, which I’ll get to tonight!). I was excited to get back in the fray with Lilla and glad to see that though she’s grown, she’s not changed her personality. The writing in this book is excellent. Blaise does great work when and has taken a lot of care to make the second book better than the first. I recommend this read ( )

It is difficult to obtain Laoise's favour, however, as the goddess has a requirement that Lilla delivers her the enigmatic Heart Amulet before she may do so. Lilla is sent on a perilous trek across an unfamiliar environment as a result, with no clear path to follow and no notion of where to look for the amulet.

The world-building in this book is one of its strong points. The author does a fantastic job of thoroughly detailing and bringing to life for the reader the enormous and varied nature of the Seven Galaxies. The distinctive and well-developed Teryn culture also gives the narrative depth and complexity.

The book is impossible to put down due to the fast-paced and unpredictable plot. Lilla is a compelling and likeable protagonist who is adamant about finishing her purpose despite facing numerous obstacles.

Discovering the greatest Teryn secret is the only way for Lilla to finish her goal. Will she live to tell the tale after learning the truth about what it takes to be a True Teryn?

The book is a fantastic continuation of the series and is jam-packed with action and adventure. Additionally, it offers a thorough understanding of Teryn's culture and beliefs. Although the plot is intricate, it is brilliantly written, simple to understand, and will have you on the edge of your seat.

S.G. Blaise's "True Teryn" is a must-read for enthusiasts of science fiction and fantasy, in general. The novel is well-written, quick-paced, and packed with adventure and excitement.

It is an excellent continuation of the series and it provides a deep insight into the Teryn culture and their belief. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a thrilling and exciting read. ( )
