Let me start by saying "life" got in the way after I started this book and when I finally got back to it, I found myself milking the final chapters because I didn't want to leave these characters, especially Davina, the "river witch."
Make sure to read the author's note at the end, the idea behind this story that will encourage you to think about what makes you happy in life. Each chapter is from one of the five family members mourning the recent loss of a child/sibling or from Davina, the wounded veteran/local healer/river witch. You feel their pain, forgiveness, growth, and change, and you'll want to stay and settle in by the river with them. Another great must-read by this author! ( )
