An excellent resource for teachers with students bored with the traditional curriculum. Winebrenner gives specific strategies that don't consume inordinate amounts of teacher time, explain how to motivate gifted students and keep from discouraging average students. Includes reproducible handouts and annotated resource lists for each chapter. Although this is specifically for gifted students, many of the techniques can be easily used for any classroom or for home school either as "alternative activities" for the gifted as the book intends or to replace more traditional methods for students of any ability. I would encourage any teacher to read this book. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica

It presents in a few SIMPLE examples and paragraphs, how to identify and manage your students who are "different", whereas overachievers, or underachievers.
The tools and lessons ideas are very specific, but so well explained that they can be adapted to just about any classroom for any student, in any school context. It also presents just about all the technics that can be found in more specific books, therefore it's an easy to read introduction to those.
At a very low price (in the ~$20), this is an excellent resource (check for the version with the CDROM of electronic copies of the documents). A must have. ( )
