It is a good book for 2nd grade read along, you could discuss the vocab before you read the book and review after it is done. It would also be great for 3-4 reading groups or in the classroom library.

Mozart is about a young boy who was a musical prodigy. At five years old he began to compose and play a few different instruments. At first his father was reluctant to allow Mozart to play with him and his fellow musicians until he realized that his son was more than capable of following, and even leading in harmony and melody. When Mozart composed his music, he composed it with the musician and the singers in mind, trying not to make it so difficult that the music could not be played or sang.

I grew up singing in the church choir and then in the middle school and high school choirs. Music is a passion that I share with my children as well as one that I shared with my grandmother and my mother and father. I have hopes that my children will share this same passion and hopefully have some musical talent of their own.

As a classroom extension I would bring in some samples of Mozart's music as well as some children's music that the students could sing along with.
