I'm not a big fan of books with stickers but of course that part of it was a big hit. Love the grape costume but generally speaking it's just an ok story. I look forward to reading the original Fancy Nancy to see what makes Nancy so popular. There were many things I liked about this book by Jane O'Connor. One thing I thought was great was her use of more difficult language accompanied by an explanation that flowed well in the story. For example, she uses the word "unique" and then says, "That's a fancy way of saying one of a kind." She also uses the word "disastrous" and then says, "That is a fancy way of saying very bad." I thought this was very clever on the authors part and it allows the children reading to learn new vocabulary. I also like the interactive aspect of this book. Inside the book there is a page filled with stickers of all different pieces of Halloween costumes. Nancy's first costume is ruined, but the last page of the book asks the reader to fix her "costume crisis" using the given stickers. I really like this idea because it engages the reader and gives them a chance to have a little fun and be creative. I think the central message of the story is not to get upset when something goes wrong, because there is a solution to every problem. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
