As much as I enjoyed reading this book, the author could have taken it further and letd they get their HEA us know what happened between Josh and Candice.
Did they get their HEA? Not really sure with the way the book ended.
However, the fact that Candice was so innocent played good for her roll in this story.
All in all it was a great book indeed!


Torn Between Brothers: A Southern Mafia Romance
This is the second book in the Billionaires Assistant Boxed Set. This book took me a few chapters to get into. I wasn't enthused about the story line. By the end of the book
the story of Alicia and David still didn't really capture my imagination.

I have no problem with mail-order brides, I just felt that the main characters barely spoke to each other (they spent a lot of time in their own heads thinking and then suddenly they are in love. It just felt a bit disjointed to me.

Both Mila and Brad had been betrayed by their spouses and vowed not to give away their hearts again. When Mila moves in next door to Brad, they are instantly attracted to each other. A custody case over Brad's son Isaac results in a decision to enter a fake marriage - they find themselves growing together, but various obstacles threaten to keep them apart. A quick, entertaining read, with lots of hot, sexy scenes as well as heartwarming family, and a couple of plot twists at the end.

Lena's brother Adam has been warning her away from Jeremy for years, ever since they first met while she was in college. Four years later they are all working together in the same law firm and sparks fly. Once they give in to their attraction, their attraction quickly becomes more than just physical until an unexpected pregnancy and subsequent misunderstanding tears them apart. I loved watching Jeremy's transformation from womanizing bad-boy to a loving partner. The story was well written, and kept me engaged from start to finish. I enjoyed the peripheral characters as well - I'm looking forward to reading their stories in the future.

White House Affair is a departure from Ms Brooks' usual genre/style - dark, steamy, political intrigue. Matthew is an ambitious senator about 15 years older than college grad Kayla who has her own political aspirations. Suspend your expectations of reality, as the storyline isn't really realistic - that said, it is a work of fiction and I was glued to the pages as the story played out - the love/hate relationship, plot twists and turns and the revelations that the hero and heroine are not your typical altruistic romance novel characters. Definitely an entertaining read.

Loved Kyle and Whitney's story! Kyle and Whitney are reunited after she broke his heart years ago. She has regrets over past decisions and how she treated him and, realizing what she lost, she wants to make it up to him by helping him keep custody of his daughter. Their fake marriage starts to become real as their old feelings are rekindled. This story is a sweet, steamy, and heartwarming read.

Emotional and sometimes heartwrenching second chance romance. Ace returns after 2 years deployed to find Lexi has a daughter as a result of their one night stand 2 years prior. They each have troubled histories they need to work through and Ace is dealing with PTSD as well. Their chemistry was smoking hot and Ace was so tender and sweet towards their daughter Luna. Another great read by Sarah J Brooks!

Love these two vibrant characters! Declan and Marian meet as strangers at a wedding in Las Vegas and end up drinking too much and get married! The next morning they discover they know each other and make a deal to stay married so he can access his trust fund and she can have a baby. Loved all the facets of this story - planning her Mom's May/December wedding, her crazy ex-husband & Declan's meddling mother. This is a followup to One Hot Daddy, so we see Ace and Lexi again. This story is steamy and sweet, angsty, emotional and funny in parts. A great read - I enjoyed it from start to finish!

Say You're Mine is Robert and Skyler's story - the fourth book in the Southport Love Stories series. Robert initially comes across as the shy, nerdy type and the truth is unexpected and HOT! Skyler is no-nonsense, accepting and loyal. Love the chemistry between the two as they rediscover the attraction between them and their friendship. A few unexpected twists and turns will keep you turning the pages until, as always, the HEA. Trust Sarah J. Brooks to write a story that's unique, captivating, has wonderful characters and will keep you glued to the pages till the end.
