The rags of time: A fragment of autobiography por William Buchan
This book is mentioned in "Decca, the Letters of Jessica Mitford". It covers the life of William Buchan from his early years to the approaching war in 1939. Whilst the description of English country house life is vivid, I liked best the account of John Buchan's family in Scotland, in particular John's sister and William's aunt, Anna Douglas, better known as the writer, O. Douglas.
