A good overview of the ACA

Davidson does a good job explaining the ACA as envisioned by its creators as well as providing a general overview of the complexities involved with healthcare and health policy. Its an accessible text largely jargon free. I am however disappointed by the way Davidson treats the ACA as the only realistic way forward. I think we do discussions of health policy a disservice in the way we simply assume that things like a single payer system isn't possible. Now such a thing maybe understood as out of the scope of this text but nevertheless given why Davidson praises the ACA I anticipated a section on health policy's future where movement toward single payer would be mentioned. Worth the read especially given the potential of repeal and replace. Also note this text is a bit dated as of was written before the ACA was fully in place
