Her life’s work has centered on women’s religious history, a topic about which she has spoken to audiences around the United States. In addition to teaching American and World History at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock and Hunter College, CUNY, she has taught Church History in Episcopal Seminaries in Cambridge, Mass., New York City, and Alexandria, Va. Donovan earned a B.A. from Mills College and a Ph.D. in American History at Columbia University. She currently lives with her husband in Dobbs Ferry and serves as the president of the Dobbs Ferry Historical Society.
