Now over 3 decades old the modern techniques of microbotanical analysis have overshadowed the findings in this volume of articles. Still there are some good reminders in this old chestnut. Wilma Westrom's article (p. 81-95) has insightful analysis of the conflicting perspectives of culture by archaeologists that have magnified in the last 30 years. At pages 382-3 James Fitting's documentaion of cobble clusters in relation to pottery and debitage gives this researcher pause about the need for careful recording of rocks within concentrations of pottery sherds where they occur together.… (mais)
