If you are a rank beginner, this might be a good place to start, so you can learn about knots, tippets, flies, etc. But if you really want to fly fish, you better get out on a stream with someone who knows more than you do.

EXCELLENT book for fly fishers!! Hughs puts many excellent photographs of the various 'trout food' aquatic insects in his book, along with great text descriptions, where and when the various insects can be found, how to tie some basic flies representing the various 'trout foods', and how to fish those flies. Thumbs up!!
