Really enjoyed all of the characters, they felt multi-dimensional and real in many senses of the word! The mystery was good. Took a bit to get into the action but the build-up and getting to know our characters was well worth it!
This one reminded me more of One of Us Is Lying more than Nancy Drew, but I’ve heard the comparison. A fun mystery, but forgettable. I don’t feel pulled to try the next book in the series. I liked the main character’s drive, though her motivation was misguided. As is the case with many amateur detectives, she doesn’t seem to think through her actions before she barrels forward into danger. Good twist and turns though!
For YA. Good idea.. very YA writing, a little far fetched
What a fun book! This one kept me guessing and the writing prose really worked for me. It read like a movie but somehow better? Pip the main character is relatable and fun, crime obsessed and reminded me of my favorite podcast crime junkie! Recommend if you like books like the naturals.
