There’s some amazing history here previously unknown to me, and I loved learning more. I appreciated how the author tells the various stories about these girls (some now women who were able to be interviewed), yet she makes a point to note that we shouldn’t just be taking them in as “inspirational” and disregarding but rather also need to be doing the work and not expecting these girls to save us.
