This is a sweet story. Instead of a man in the moon, there is a rabbit in the moon who helps light up the night with stars and grant wishes. Rabbits wish is for new friends, and he makes his wishes come true. But the night sky is not lighting up any more and Rabbit has to go home, but he finds a way to maintain his friendships.

Beautiful illustrations add to the imagery of the story that I find delightful. This story of Korean folklore sparks the imagination as you look at all the stars in the sky and think of what the many wishes might be.

Rabbit Moon by Jean Kim
Arthur A. Levine books
Review by Debra L Scott
A gentle tale nspired by Korean folklore featureing soft illustrations and soothing rhymes to make a very lovely bedtime story for young children. Animal children write their wishes to the Rabbit on the moon, but does Rabbit have his own wish? What will happen if Rabbit comes down to play? The rhymes are a little rough in places, and the illustrations are done with dark shady backgrounds which are a little hard to see in dim bedtime light. However this feels very much like a Goodnight Moon type of book that will be cherished and read through generations.
