SrMaryLea | Aug 23, 2023 | Jesus is the treasure hidden in the room inside us, our spirit. To find him we must take a journey within. The 10 images of Jesus in this book are wake-up calls for our spirits. To guide you on your trip, the author has selected 10 images of Jesus from the Gospels: friend, healer, teacher, lord, mentor, servant leader, savior, evangelizer, cross-bearer and joy. Each one invites you to a relationship with Jesus.-

StFrancisofAssisi | Apr 4, 2020 | The crisis of fidelity has reached dangerous levels both for the Church and our culture, believes Fr. Alfred McBride. The signs of the impact of the breakdown of fidelity to God, self, friendships, country, marriage, and celibacy surround us. What is a Catholic to think, believe, and do to stay faithful today? The author, an internationally known Catholic spiritual writer, catechetical expert, speaker and teacher, offers wisdom on a hot topic in daily news headlines. This clear explanation of Catholic teaching on the virtue of fidelity uses stories, studies, help from people's human experiences, and examples for popular and classical culture to offer encouragement and inspiration for anyone seeking to stay faithful in every aspect of life.

StFrancisofAssisi | May 20, 2019 | Essentials of the Faith is more than a brilliant guide to the Catechism. It's also a practical handbook for putting those timeless teachings of the Church into daily life. Everything you need to know about the Catholic Faith is presented in short topical chapters, tied directly to the principles so marvelously articulated in the Catechism.

gregdehler | Apr 29, 2018 | This is a strong debut novel! I expect to see more from you, Christina Hoffman!
This book has a ton going for it that I love:
Likable characters that you feel like you know - check
Real people - check
Swoon worthy hero - check
Hot sexy time - check, check, check
It takes talent to take everyday, normal people and create compelling characters from them. These are characters you feel like you are invested in and want to see where the future takes them.
It's not an angsty, earth shattering book. It is however a thoroughly enjoyable, well-written book that is worth your time!
Go check it out!

I read this book while on retreat, and found that it was very helpful in the way it too ten different approaches to the message of Jesus and suggested specific ways to explore that access in one's own prayer. He introduces each of the ten sections with passages from the Gospel illustrating that aspect (the suffering Christ, for instance, or the Christ who heals the sick) along with personal reflections. At the end of the section comes a series of short "invitations" to pray along with Jesus, both to deepen one's own experience and to make it an active part of one's life. Recommended both for the beginner and for the more experienced person of faith
