Animal Magic is a family run Animal Rescue Centre. Ella and Caleb help their mom who is a vet, run the centre. Caleb puts the animals pictures and descriptions on the website trying to find them a forever home. In this story, Ella rescues an injured fox kit. He needs stitches after being tangled in barbed wire. Ella helps nurse him back to health and names him Copper. Mom warns her not to handle him unless necessary, he is not a pet and will need to be released in the wild once his leg heals. Meanwhile, Caleb is working hard to find a home for a goat they rescued. Will Copper make it back in the wild? Will anyone want to adopt a troublesome goat? Read about the Harrison family and Animal Magic. This is a great chapter book for beginning readers that will entertain them as well as teach them about animal rescues and about what to do when you find an injured wild animal. The illustrations are black and white drawings but are cute and add just enough to the story while keeping it age appropriate. A great book for school and classroom libraries as well as for a gift for that beginning reader who loves animals. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book via Netgalley.… (mais)

Unfortunately in our world today, there are always abandoned and unwanted animals. In this story, the Harrison family run the Animal Magic Rescue Centre on their property. It is their anniversary and they are having a celebration and open house. They are hoping to raise money and adopt out animals. They accept all kinds of animals; dogs, cats, rabbits, horses etc. Recently, their neighbour has started a crusade to get them shut down. She does not like the noise and complains that they cause too much traffic. When a soccer star who was supposed to be their special guest cancels at the last minute, Eva and Caleb head over to his house to see if they can convince him to still participate, or at least find out what happens.

This is a cute story about animal lovers and what they can do to help homeless and abandoned animals. It also teaches about animal owner responsibilities in a very easy to understand way. Children will enjoy this book. The illustrations are black and white drawings and spread out throughout the book, but there are enough to keep the reader interested. The chapters are divided out nicely and an early chapter reader will find this book easy to read. I would recommend this book to school and primary/junior classroom libraries.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I have read a few of the books in the Animal Rescue series and I am quite impressed with them. They are great books for beginning chapter reader whether boys or girls. Animal Magic is a family run Animal Rescue Centre. Ella and Caleb help their mom who is a vet, run the centre. Caleb puts the animals pictures and descriptions on the website trying to find them a forever home. In this story, Ella finds a lab puppy left in a box just outside the gate of the Rescue Centre. Caleb finds clues on the box to help determine who dropped the puppy off. For some reason, he is sure that the owner wants the puppy back. They find out who the possible owner is and set out to see if she really meant to drop her puppy off at Animal Magic. The family in the book are wonderful characters. They care about the animals and do whatever they can to find them new "Forever Homes". Read about the Harrison family and Animal Magic. These books will entertain as well as teach the readers about animal rescues. The illustrations are black and white drawings but are cute and add just enough to the story while keeping it age appropriate. A great book for school and classroom libraries as well as for a gift for that beginning reader who loves animals.
