The interesting thing about Ketogenic diets is that they are [according to Wikipedia] “a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet that in medicine is used primarily to treat difficult-to-control (refractory) epilepsy in children which forces the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates. Normally, the carbohydrates contained in food are converted into glucose, which is then transported around the body and is particularly important in fueling brain-function. However, if there is very little carbohydrate in the diet, the liver converts fat into fatty acids and ketone bodies. The ketone bodies pass into the brain and replace glucose as an energy source.”
Since according to what I’ve read elsewhere that while a ketogenic diet is essentially what most people who are interested in using weight most often use this diet to lose weight, it might also assist those individuals suffering from heart disease [I’ve had bypass surgery] which is why I’m going to keep this download on my computer for a good while before returning it.
At a fast glance, I’ve found the recipes quite simple to follow and quick to make. The best thing about this book is that it’s actually a compilation of three book other Keto Diet books from the same publisher, which makes it a real bargain.
While cookbooks might have their own uniqueness there still can be a duplication of recipes which is why I’ve given this book 4 STARS.… (mais)
