Z Publishing

This short story collection from Florida writers generally beginning their writing careers covers a variety of genres, but the majority of the stories are contemporary realism. I found it fascinating to see the stories coming from new voices. For me, two stories that really stood out were Marie A. Bailey's "No More Tomorrows" and Egypt Kosloski's "Blue." "No More Tomorrows" investigates an adult mother-daughter relationship amidst a backdrop of nostalgia. I felt the "you can't go home again" feeling strongly here, as well as the emotional terrain of loving a difficult mother. "Blue," quite frankly, was a little creepy but so well done in how the speaker assumes the identity of her sister.… (mais)
