This book is an unfortunate attempt to paint the Russian Church Abroad (ROCOR) as the one possessing authority over Russian orthodox parishes outside of communist Russia. The church began among Russian refugees from the revolution in the 1920's. Despite the fact that there were already Orthodox dioceses outside of Russia ROCOR felt that it alone represented Orthodoxy in the West. In following this course they contributed to the confused picture of Orthodoxy in the West. Mr. Rodzianko was one of the refugees and his "history" is tendentious, pleading only his own cause and denigrating other Orthodox churches. As a defense of ROCOR it is quite successful. Unfortunately it contributes to divisions in the rest of Orthodoxy.… (mais)
