Catalogue published on occasion of the exhibition of the same name, held at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria from April 1 - May 30, 1983.

Featured in this exhibition are examples of work dating from the 15th - 19th centuries, which are part of the collection of Mr. and Mrs. Reid.

As the director notes in her foreword, 'cloisonné was appreciated outside China as an art sooner and more so than in China, where it was considered a "lesser" art.'

This is a catalogue for a travelling exhibition of Chinese Jade, held at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria from February 13 - April 25, 1986.

'Jade has long been treasured in China, and the pieces in this exhibit are testimony to the artistry, craftsmanship and skill of the carvers...

'The ideas and concerns of mankind over the centuries have been expressed through their art. Having this special opportunity to view these jades, understanding their important role in China's past, does indeed give us a very keen insight into traditions past, thus giving us the background for understanding the art, culture and lifestyles today.'
