The story is set in the 1900s in the south, somewhere between Mississippi and Tennessee. Written in a child's voice, the story tells of a (formally enslaved) boy's hope and desire to travel the country. He admires train engineer Casey Jones and often times find himself daydreaming of life on a train. Until one day his Hope's are crushed after Casey Jones dies in a train wreck. But his father reinsures him that there are many other trains and heroes in the world. Summary: In this book a young boy looks forward to hearing and seeing the train pass by his house and the cotton fields that he works in. The train conductor, Casey, is kind to him and lets him see his train. Because of this positives experience, the young boy feels drawn towards trains. He concludes that one day he will take a train and go somewhere amazing. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
