I gave this book to my 10 month old granddaughter, and I have never seen a baby so delighted with a book. Peals of laughter greeted every opening, and she was fascinated by the babies' faces. Jan Ormerod put just the right amount of detail into her illustrations to make the babies very clearly recognizable and attractive - neither too detailed nor too cartoonish. The flaps are large and easily opened by a child or by a parent in a hurry to read the page before the baby turns to the next page. This is the perfect first book.

It's also in the best condition I have ever seen in a secondhand lift-the-flap book - obviously very sturdily constructed. Love it! ( )
