This romance is brilliantly constructed, with a span of only seven days. Yes, that's a biblical reference, or actually, two. Yes, a nod towards the week of creation, but more particularly the number of days the Jews marched around Jericho before the walls came crumbling down.

The dialog is prime, and carries the story along swiftly, marking the heroine's heart processes.

I've read this twice now and enjoyed it immensely. (

[Through the Postern Gate] by [Florence L. Barclay] is a novella about English manners and how in the end, they are a bunch of hogwash. It was a free book, but still, I wouldn't necessarily waste my time on it. (
