Homeland meets Marie Lu's Legend in the explosive sequel to Blackout, which #1 New York Times bestselling author Ally Condie called "a thrilling combination of Wells's trademark twists and terror. Fantastic!" It began with a virus. Then a series of attacks erupted across the nation. Now America is at war--and a handful of teens with impossible powers are its only defense. In Dead Zone, Robison Wells delivers his most nail-bitingly tense read yet--and an electrifying conclusion to a two-book series that's perfect for fans of The Maze Runner and I Am Number Four. Dead Zone by Robison Wells is filled with military lingo, action, adventure, and espionage, but it lacks sorely in several other categories. For example, the plot holes are maddening. There are so many plot holes and loose ends that I was actually annoyed by the time I finished this book. Then there's the useless babbling, the stupidity of these kids with freaking superpowers (come on!), and not to mention that Aubrey got on my nerves because her growth seemed so forced. I loved the military lingo, don't get me wrong, but everything else was just super-meh.
Now, I could continue with my bitch-fest and get really mean about how I wasted my time with this book, but I'd rather not waste your time. So, the short of the long is this: Robison Wells could have taken a bit more time and worked out the plot properly, before giving us this hot mess to read.
In other words, skip Dead Zone.
