Luke was ridiculous, these guys were adults yet they acted like children, I seriously wanted to knock them out. They were toxic, they probably should not have gotten together. Luke's reasoning for pushing Tessa away was ridiculous. I think what saved it for me, was reading about Mia and Ben, I liked Mason and I want to know what happens with Reed. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
Pertence a SérieAlabama Summer (2)
From New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author, J. Daniels, the second book in the Alabama Summer series. ***Author_s Note*** All I Want is a standalone novel, but to fully appreciate the f****ed-up mess that is Luke & Tessa, pick up Where I Belong first. Luke Evans is a heartbreaker. I didn_t want to give mine to him. Not when he kept me out. He gave me enough, just enough to make me fall in love with him. I say this to convince myself. But I know the truth. I would_ve fallen in love with him at a distance. Handing my heart over to Luke was the easiest thing I_ve ever done. I was naive when I wished for more, when I hoped he wanted the same things I did. I try to hate him. I try to forget him. But it_s not that easy. Love is a ruthless bitch, and I_m her latest victim. Tessa Kelly is a man-eater. When she sets her sights on you, she doesn_t just consume your heart, she goes for your soul. What we had was perfect, real, and all I would ever want. But she destroyed it. She destroyed us. I try to hate her. I try to forget her. But it_s not that easy. Love is for people who have hope, and I have none. **Warning: This books is recommended for readers over the age of 18 due to strong language and explicit sexual content. Isn't it amazing how being so deeply in love with someone makes you want to commit murder? If you have read book 1 of the Alabama Summer series, you'll be familiar with the train wreck that is Tessa and Luke. As Author J. Daniels points out, this book could be a standalone. But really, do yourself a favor and read book 1. You'll want the back story to see how deeply the two main characters feel.
The true mettle of a great author is that they immerse you in the character's world so deeply. You feel what they feel and turn to hope for a better ending. I'll tell you, I was feeling this. There were parts of the story where - toss a coin- I was going to slap the crap out of either character. Didn't matter. They were both so stubborn, pigheaded and closed off. Yep, I was going to throw the eBook at one point I was so frustrated with them. But, pause, isn't that the telling tale that the writing was stellar?
This is a must read series for me. I loved the character interactions from the previous stories continue to make the read enjoyable when I wasn't feeling murderous. I'm not an overly angsty person, so in rating against the others, not my top #1 book. However, its still a great read. A rollercoaster to HEA with some very, very sexy scenes. 4 out of 5 'ebook came out unscathed' stars.
