Tiffany wakes up to her relationship and realizes it has gone beyond abusive to life threatening. Her grandfather & his friends help her with money & a new id and send her out on a fresh start. She stops for the night in a small tourist town and goes to a small local store to purchase something for her supper. There she meets Jake who is running the family business. They run into each other again and a relationship develops. Stacy's characters are well developed. Their relationships & interactions with other characters are very believable. The mystery/suspense is a perfect addition to keep you interested. I really enjoyed reading this book and actually went out and bought the others in the series and have read them now. I've found a new author to add to my favorites! ***Contains spoilers*** This book is adult fairy tale giving well common advice - do no marry someone who's only and always only about himself. Don't marry someone who cuts you off from your friends. Don't marry someone only because you long to have own family - marry when your man makes all the butterflies in your stomach, and who shows his good character. The book is a vivid novel about Tiffany trying to escape her husband who has violent behavior, with help from her grandpa Tiffany has achieved totally new identity and is on the run to get away. The feeling of being "a new person" is not easy as thought before. She stops in pass-by town, without even knowing what's the town's name, walks in the grocery store and without knowing opens a new chapter in her life. The new romance sparks and when she finally gets a little to relax the main climax happens - she has to fly back home immediately and that's where the "bad guy" comes back in the picture. Why I gave only two stars was because of story's disbelief plot, for example, when Tiffany volunteers to take care of the store while Jake gets rest - I mean - she has no barriers of changing the merchandising place without asking, she has no issues with completely different till or the regular daily duties and she would know everything..? As well, I found Jake's character silly, he is this matured man as the first pages suggests and then it turns out he is only 23? and Tiffany is in her late 20's. By the pages it reveals that Jake actually haven't been dating forever and Tiffany married straight away after high school - so both of them have, let's assume, one to two loves experiences and by the plot it made the reader to think this is the end of the word. Of course, the situation is handled the right way and the book do bring awareness about the "regular nightmares" what one may experience being in the relationship with one who is violent non stop. sem crÃticas | adicionar uma crÃtica

I was gifted with a review copy for an honest
opinion. I really enjoyed this book. It was a very
sweet romance that also dealt with serious issues.
There was very little, if any, profanity; no explicit
sex scenes; no major violence and quite a bit of
laughs thrown in. I liked the setting and the
characters and am looking forward to the rest of
this series. Good job Stacy! ( )
