This was a sweet story that didn't necessarily have anything earth shattering in it but it does offer a pleasant way to spend a sunday afternoon. ( ) REVIEW: Cute, fun story. Social message to young or old women everywhere. Stereotypes, assumptions, and media hype can hide a real gem of a person. Easy to like all of the characters...Looking forward to more of this series. DESCRIPTION, NOT REVIEW: Hailey Tate thought she was worth more than a straight flush. Apparently not. When camera-shy author Hailey Tate’s agent loses a bet and brokers a deal, it leaves Hailey in the last place she wants to be: backed into the corner of Publicity and Paparazzi. Now, thanks to her girl-next-door image and role as pretend girlfriend to a womanizing shortstop, she's getting the attention she always managed to avoid. Connor Ryan is not only America’s Sexiest Athlete, he’s also the current Bad Boy of Baseball. But when he goes a base too far, management wants to bench him…permanently. One thing he never counted on? Falling for his sweet, fake girlfriend. He’s the guy who can catch anything and now she’s next on his list The Catching Kind by Caitie Quinn is a sweet and romantic tale of nerdy girl meets hot and popular guy. Sound familiar? Yes, I know but hey it works! Hailey’s agent lost a bet, and now she has to ante up. Roped into playing girlfriend to womanizing playboy Connor Ryan, Hailey is thrust into the limelight she has fought so hard to avoid. Now her life has become a whirlwind of flashing lights and privacy is a thing of the past. I absolutely loved Hailey’s character. She is sweet, funny, smart, and quirky. I was not as thrilled with Connor’s character. He came across as pretty shallow for the first half of the book for me. I had a hard time picturing what Hailey saw in him other than his good looks. Despite its awkward beginning the love story between these two did pick up toward the end. Experiencing their bittersweet journey from friendship to love was fun and entertaining. I haven’t read any of the other books in this series as of yet. I’m not sure if the previous books provide any back story to Hailey’s character, but I would have liked to see more of it in this one. I especially would have liked a bit more background on her relationship with her friend Dane. I was picking up some weird vibes between the two. Overall, The Catching Kind is an enjoyable and quick read. The steam factor is very low and this romance is definitely more on the sweet side than the sexy one. Quinn’s writing is witty, and clever. Her characters for the most part are likable and engaging. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a well-written romantic comedy. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica

HTML: A bet gone wrong. A guy I can't stand. A betraying betrayal by my agent. And that's before the paparazzi get involved... A fake boyfriend enemies-to-lovers romance from RITA finalist Bria Quinlan. My lit agent has thrown me under the bus. For some reason, she thought using me as her stakes for a bet was a good idea... and she lost. Now I have to play girl-next-door to the flipping bad boy of baseball to clean up his image problems. And man, does he have problems. Of course, Mr. I Only Date Models stated there's no way he'd be seen in public with me. The feeling is abso-tootly mutual. Now against everything I could possibly want, he and his image issues have taken over my life and moved into my apartment. On the couch, people. He's on the couch. But the longer he's here, the more I see something endearing about him. Something I might actually like. Maybe there's more to him than that playboy image he shows the world. It's a risk, but am I willing to bet on us? .Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
