From the cult classic The Wicker Man to the blood-thirsty Count Dracula, Christopher Lee has been the face of cinema villainy for decades. In Lord of Misrule, Lee tells the story of his exceptional career, in films like The Curse of Frankenstein, the James Bond classic The Man with the Golden Gun, and more recently, in Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow. After appearing in more than 300 films, and a legend in his own right, Lee undertook one of the most demanding roles of his career as Saruman in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings. Shortly after, as one of the most powerful adversaries in the Star Wars canon, Lee proved that at 80, he is still a commanding screen presence. Written with self-deprecating wit and laced with hilarious anecdotes, Lord of Misrule is a marvelous career history of the man The Guardian called "the coolest actor on the planet.”… (mais)

I have all 3 of Sir Christopher lee's autobiography books and its brilliant and the photos illustrated are awesome.I wish the film company would have done him a bio film and include Christopher's best friends like Peter Cushing and Boris Karloff etc, from when he was born until his death, i am still sad from his passing and also with Peter Cushing death too, such gentle and kind they were full of humour and wits, i enjoy all there films and especially Christopher singing as i also love opera and golf, i played golf at La Manga in 1976 where Christopher has been.

I enjoyed this book. If you are interested in actors, golf, WWII, English living, movie history or Lord of the Rings, you will probably enjoy it as well. In the beginning, while he was discussing his family history and boyhood, I felt I was being talked to while being held at arms length, much of it was over my head and the tone seemed very formal. But when he began talking about his career as an actor, the author warmed up and became very engaging. His humour was a great surprise, as well as his love of and competence in golf and opera. The stories of early Hammer pictures and the film industry in Britain were interesting. Christopher Lee allows one chapter for the Lord of the Rings movies and books, but that chapter is filled with affection and delightful to read. ( )

He's funny, smart and I really would like this as a audio book if he reads it.

Christopher Lee looks back at his life, examining how he got to where he is and name-dropping like nothing else, but he's entitled to name-drop, he really knows these people and often has funny stories to tell about them.

I really enjoyed reading this and when I had to put it down couldn't wait to pick it up again. ( )
