I continue to really enjoy these books -- surprisingly gentle, despite the zombie theme, and strong on friendship. ( ) I loved this book for a few reasons. This book rhymes and I love when children books rhyme because it creates a rhythm when reading it. The book also has some really smart descriptors used through out the story. Since the book is about an un-dead zombie girl, some descriptors are "drop dead gorgeous" and "to die for" and its a small detail but is really clever. I love the character of Zombelina because since she is a zombie, she falls apart and puts herself together again. I think this is a really clever and original idea and makes for really interesting illustrations. The illustrations through out the entire book are very beautifully drawn and show lots of movement. They really aid to the telling of the story. The overall message of this story is that sometimes the new kid in school might seem a little odd at first but you should be nice and make friends with them. Zombelina is adorable! A cute book about Zombelina, who's a dancer and ready for the show and tell! She's a sweet zombie who helps out a new classmate with his stage fright and even cheers him on when his signing isn't all that great! She throws a party afterward and teaches everyone her awesome hip-hop moves! This book teaches kids a lesson about being kind to others and making sure everyone's included! Illustrations were amazing! I loved the characters and how they did multiple illustrations on each page! That little zombie ballerina, whose story began in the eponymous Zombelina, and then continued in Zombelina Dances the Nutcracker, returns in this third picture-book devoted to her adventures. Zombelina loves school, especially show-and-tell. When Morty, the new boy in class, experiences stage fright during his first show-and-tell, Zombelina steps in to help him, befriending him at recess as well... Like its predecessors, Zombelina: School Days features an entertaining tale told in rhyme - "I leap on the school bus and / twirl down the aisles... / I swivel my hips, and I stretch out in style. / Today's show-and-tell day, and nobody knows, / my hip-hop's to DIE for! I break like the pros!" - and colorful, appealing artwork. Somehow, illustrator Molly Idle manages to make her zombie character cute, something that bemuses me, as I usually do not care for this particular kind of monster. Recommended to anyone who read and enjoyed the first two books about Zombelina, and to anyone looking for children's stories that address new children at school, and how to help them feel welcome. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
