Free for the public, kids need only to begin clicking to access information on animals that is suitable for school projects and personal enrichment. Each animal can be found either by a search box, or through an index for a type of animal or habitat. This serves both the student who knows exactly what they want and those that don't. The Habitat index also helps to educate children on the context for their animal. But once they have clicked on their animal, then they can choose to click through 10 "pages" of factual text that are around the length one would find in a second or third grade level nonfiction book. They can also explore video and sounds for the animals as well access a map that represents the animal's territory. They can email or IM the information, print it, or create an e-card. Also if the user scrolls to the bottom of the page, the website will recommend related animal videos and games. This website is rich in attributes, but restrained in textual length. So it makes a useful curriculum tool for teachers and librarians. As it is free, it is highly recommended for public librarians and elementary and middle school media teachers. ( )
