I appreciated that the book included stories from other cultures, mostly Indigenous American, but I do wish a couple of illustrations had shown those myths instead of just the Greek ones. Still, a good introduction. ( ) This book would really engage intermediate readers through its use of glow in the dark images of constellations that pair with the information about their layout, involved stars, and legendary story. Each major constellation shows the star layout, but also includes a more realistic image of the character to help readers visualize the layout. Instructions on how to find each constellation are also included for many and the end of the book contains several activities for astronomy lovers! Students who are into legends or astronomy will really enjoy this book! Genre: Informational: Science Grade level: 4th or 5th Key Words: Stars, Sky, Constellations Possible Topics: I could use this book to teach my students about the different Constellations and their meanings. I could also use this books to teach about stars and how they are related to the idea of Constellations. This book would be great to read alongside a presentation in the Star Dome that we were able to see last month. By allowing the students to read and hear the stories of this mythology, they will be able to look at the constellations with more meaning. Another awesome thing about this book is that it is glow-in-the-dark. The students would be able to see what the constellation might look like without the pictures. At the ned of the book, there are hands-on activities. These activities are more for enjoyment proposes, not science inquiry. They allow students to create their own constellations. Another one shows them how to make a box of stars. These would have to be altered to become more science based. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
