I absolutely love the Wickwood Chronicles series!
Ghost of Enchantment is book 2 in the series but can be read as a standalone.
This novel follows Stella and Lucas, who briefly featured in Ghost of A Gamble book 1.

I loved Stella, a witch with the abilities to conjure, feel energies and perform spells. Her back story which at first seemed not much had me pulled in as the true secrets came unravelling.
Lucas was a great addition to this story, him and Stella pairing together brought a lovely romantic feel to the novel without taking away from the paranormal side of the story. I loved how Lucas was effectively Stella's anchor and stabilisation.

The plot of Ghost of An Enchantment was different from the first book, it came with more surprises and revelations that I did not anticipate.
I truly enjoyed this story and loved the direction it went. I liked how the characters of Grace, Sam, Zack and Bree also showed up for brief appearance.

The Wickwood Chronicles is becoming my favourite series and I can't wait to read Ghost of A Summoning the third book in the series ( )

Ghost of Enchantment is the second in a series of paranormal romances that take place in the small town of Wickwood. It isn’t necessary to have read the first book to enjoy this one. Stella Campfield is a web designer and as well as a consultant for a paranormal investigation agency. She is a witch who was raised and trained by her grandmother to use her strong intuition and powers for good. She is torn between worrying about her grandmother, who is suffering from dementia, and her best friend who has accidentally opened the portal to another world. She finds herself attracted to the police officer who is investigating some strange occurrences in town. Lucas Martinez finds Stella intriguing. As he learns more about the secretive witch, and the sinister forces that seem to be focused on her, his determination to protect her grows.
I enjoyed this book. The characters were all well developed, including smaller, supporting characters. There was humour and suspense in the mystery part of the story. There was also plenty of time exploring the backgrounds and relationship of Stella and Lucas. I did have a complaint about Stella’s character. Her aversion to police was not very logical and seemed based only on some negative comments from her grandmother. She also was unnecessarily secretive. There was a very good explanation given for her reluctance to reach out to anyone (her best friend, the paranormal investigators or Lucas) for help or advice on any of the problems she was encountering.
Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys paranormal romance or suspense. There were a couple of sex scenes, but nothing excessive. ( )

I thought this book was just okay. I really enjoyed the magic system and thought the plot was interesting. However, I didn't care about the characters and thought the romance was bland, which made the romance focused scenes boring. If you are a big fan of paranormal romances, I would give it a try, but otherwise I wouldn't recommend it. ( )

An exceedingly well written novel of paranormal romance! I enjoyed the story and the characters. I encourage Ms. McDonald to continue writing the Wickwood Chronicles as I look forward to reading them! Frequently, the authors of this genre do not research or create a sensitive balance between fantasy and believability. This author managed to do both! The last time I enjoyed a story of this nature so much was when I read D. Harkness’ novels! ( )

Great witch story with a hot romance between Stella and Lucas. The story works well and develops nicely. There are several extra characters thrown in to fill out the story line and then the rest just gets the two main characters hotter and sexier (while still maintaining good taste). There was plenty of magic to keep me happy (a real fantasy junkie) and several partial plots that can offer sequels or spin offs. There were enough twists and turns to keep it from being predictable. So, if you are into witches, ghosts, the paranormal, interdimensional creatures and planes, and steamy sex scenes you will love the book. There are more books to come and I am sure Stella, Aubrey, Lucas and the gang will be back in full swing. I look forward to seeing the next book. ( )
