Rachael’s Decision by Molly Jebber takes place in 1915 in Charm, Ohio. This Amish story centers around Rachael Schlabach and her family and friends along with the bakery where she works. Rachael’s betrothed died in a tragic accident, so she fills her days or king at the Amish Charm Bakery and helping a widower with two young children.

Caleb Yutzy, his brother, his sister-in-law, along with his niece recently moved to Charm. When he meets Rachael, he realizes she is the one God means for him to marry.

With deaths, courtships, family interactions, and more this book kept me reading. With second chances at love, the creation of families and more, Molly Jebber creates a wonderful story. I loved getting to know the characters and finding out how the storyline developed.

So if you enjoy sweet Amish romances, check out this book for yourself. I definitely recommend it.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own. ( )

The Charm Amish Bakery Series has been such a joy to read and this book is a delightful way to end it! Author Molly Jebber gives us a chance to catch up with many of the characters that we've met before and another glimpse of Amish life as it was in the early 1900s. Rachael Schlabach works with her sister-in-law Magdelena at the Amish Charm Bakery and she has a difficult choice to make. All she's ever wanted is to be a mother but should she marry a widow that she doesn't romantically love so that she can become a mother to his young children? What about the handsome newcomer who's just arrived in Charm?

Jebber offers a poignant portrayal of Rachael's dilemma. Her sweet, caring nature and her belief in God's Will won't allow her to make a selfish decision but she still knows that pain and hurt are bound to happen. Twists and turns, along with a strong thread of faith, make this a captivating story!

Fans of Amish fiction and clean romance will definitely enjoy Rachael's Decision.

I received a digital copy of this book from the author via Celebrate Lit and NetGalley. There was no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts. ( )

Rachael’s Decision by Molly Jebber takes us back to Charm, Ohio in 1915 where Rachael Schlabach works at the Charm Bakery. An accident cost Rachael her fiancé and gave her a limp. Since the death of Nathan Wagler’s wife, Rachael has been helping him with household chores and with his two kinner. Rachael had hopes that Nathan would ask to court her, but he is still grieving. One day Caleb Yutzy walks into the bakery. Caleb is instantly attracted to Rachael. He immediately asks her to share dinner with his family the next day. When Caleb asks to court her, Rachael accepts, but she fails to share some news that might make him change his mind. As Rachael begins spending time with Caleb, Nathan and his children miss her presence in their lives. Nathan invites Rachael to dinner and asks if he can court her. Rachael is torn between the two men. Rachael will need God’s guidance so she can make the right decision. Rachael’s Decision is the sixth book in the Amish Charm Bakery series. It can be read as a standalone if you are new to the series. The story contains good writing with realistic characters. The story moved at a gentle pace. There was a good flow to the story. I enjoyed getting to know Rachael, Nathan, and Caleb. Nathan’s children, Joy and Thad are sweethearts. Joy stood out to me. She is a precocious child. I like that we get to catch up with the characters in the other Amish Charm Bakery novels including Sheriff Williams and Dr. Harrison. I like how the author uses Sheriff Williams and Dr. Harrison’s having breakfast and reading the paper to add historical details. I found Rachael’s Decision to be an emotional story. It is a story that tugs at your heartstrings. Faith was beautifully incorporated into the story. The characters trust God and rely on Him to guide them. I like that they pray about a decision before making it. I like how the characters had the love and support of family, friends and community. Rachael’s Decision is a poignant tale with a caring community, a bevy of baked goods, a sweet suitor, two sweet kids, an upsetting secret, and a generous God. ( )

What a great way to finish up The Amish Charm Bakery series. I’m sad to see it end but was glad Rachel was chosen to be last as her story was as charming as the series title. If you are looking for a more simplistic way of life then delve into this series as you will wish you could actually visit the bakery and get to know the characters personally. I love that Caleb looks beyond Rachel’s disabilities and looks at her heart and doesn’t give up on his pursuit of her. It reminds me of the way God pursues and woos us to Him. Even though this takes place in 1915 it feels like it could be taking place today, so even if you aren’t a historical reader you would still enjoy this. I loved the deep ties of family, friends, and community while trusting God to show His perfect plans. A perfect example of God making beauty from the ashes. I felt blessed after reading this one.
I received a complimentary copy from CelebrateLit. The honest review and opinions are my own and were not required. ( )
