Dominic Furneaux, Duke of Arlesford sees a woman in Mrs Silver's House of Pleasures and she reminds him of a woman who broke his heart. Then he realises that she is the woman who broke his heart, Arabella is stuck, no money and no way of getting out of poverty easily. She has a son and a mother to care for. Little does Dominic realise that making her his mistress will change his life, and not in ways that he expected.
A good story with a lot of twists in getting them both a HEA
A Dark and Brooding Gentleman is a sequel to that one, this time it's Sebastian Hunter, Dominic's Friend whose life of pleasure is over and now he broods in Blackloch Hall until his mother's companion changes everything by looking for something he doesn't realise has significance. Things will all change once they manage to open up to each other.
Both stories were enjoyable and I'd like to find more to find out about the secrets they're keeping. ( )
