Nick Vega and Slany Breeze are the star employees at the advertising company they work for. Too bad they can’t stand to be in the same room together for more than two minutes…
Slany can’t deny the way she feels when she is near Nick, or when she just thinks about him, for that matter! But she can hide those feelings from Nick – or so she keeps telling herself. She’s always been in control of everything; she has had to be. But there is a submissive inside her that yearns to let it all go with Nick Vega…
Nick isn’t cut out for long-term relationships, never has been. When he recognizes Slany’s submissive nature, the long-denied Dominant in him rears its head, and clamors for more. But Nick is just looking for a fling – until a stalker threatens Slany’s life, and Nick realizes she is more than a passing attraction, she is his very life.
Gracie C. McKeever’s The Matchmaker series is one that mere blurbs could never do justice to – you won’t really understand how compelling the stories are until you start reading one of them. The second in this series, Terms of Surrender is no different in this way from the first.
The synopsis for the story is interesting, even intriguing, but once you begin reading the book itself, the characters leap off the pages, immediately befriending you. McKeever deftly breeds empathy for their pain, their dreams, their every emotion from the very first chapter until the end of the book. With Terms of Surrender she also proves once again that she can write a snaky plot with the best of them – the story is fraught with more twists than a coiled-up Copperhead… Indeed, the author succeeded in keeping me guessing all through the story, and just when I thought I’d figured out who the villain was, she surprised me again – much to my delight!
In just two months, Gracie C. McKeever has moved up my list of favorite authors, with The Matchmaker series in particular being a favorite of mine. I cannot recommend this book or this series strongly enough!
