Selections from West's work which show what a talented intelligent writer she was. Her long essay on St. Augustine was an especially intelligent examination into the life of the Bishop of Hippo.. This collection is a happy reminder of how good a writer she can be. It provides a generous sampling of her fiction, biography, criticism and reportage from 1918 on; its fullest offering is a 200-page selection from "Black Lamb and Grey Falcon" put together by Dame Rebecca herself.
