I sometimes use tongue twisters in the ESL classes that I teach, and this book is always helpful to me. The author, Giles Brandreth, collected them while he was a radio show host.

In this collection, he list them alphabetically. He begins each chapter with a tongue twister from Peter Piper's Practical Principal of Plain and Perfect Pronunciation, which was published in 1674 and contains the famous Peter Piper tongue twister.

Brandeth goes on to list all the others that he has collected, hundreds of them. And by using the forms, especially of those from the Peter Piper collection, I have been able to come up with some of my own.

And of course the illustrations add to the silliness of the tongue twisters. ( )
