A little boy lets his imagination and fear get the best of him when he hears strange noises at night. He imagines the most terrifying creatures lurking in his closet. Hemingway uses a playful approach to display the features of monsters…“His nose looks like a blue carrot. Have you ever been scared of a blue carrot?” Toward the end of the story the boy no longer fears the monster, and comes back to reality to find the real monster in his closet. This book is a great way to show children how much their imagination has an influence on fear. The book shows this through creative images and the use of onomatopoeia. It is a good twist to the story everyone knows about the monster hiding in the closet. It is a good story to show courage of facing your fears. The author gives so much character and imagination to this little boy and makes it come alive in every single page. Well written text with wonderful pictures. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
