Danielle was born and raised in Calgary, Canada. At the insistence of the left side of her brain, she graduated in 2003 from the University of Calgary with a bachelor's degree in finance.

But the right side of her brain has ever been mutinous; and in 2010, it sent her back to school to complete an entirely impractical English literature degree at Mount Royal Univeristy and to pursue publication. Much to her satisfaction, the right side shows no sign of relinquishing its domination. [from Kindle ed. of Stolen Songbird (2014)]

I love the Nordic history, I love the mountains of the undead, I love the idea of people being fated and others being unfated, I love the religious historical god references, I love the flirty, I love the banter, I love the spice factor, I love the Kings, the Jarls, the Ladies and the Warriors, I love the magical elements of the songwriters and even the scenery was as dynamic and amazing as each of the believability of the characters!

What a great book! The book was stand out action and adventure throughout each chapter to the very end of the book. I was immersed in the Saga of the Unfated with wholehearted joy and already miss the characters!

I can’t wait for the next installment so I can continue to be wowed by the heart of the Viking mythology with magic fantasy themes and the right amount of spice to keep my heart racing with the characters heartbeats!

The back of the book says, “Her fate is inked in her blood. It’s carved in her bones. This power is Freya’s destiny.”

AND I can’t wait to see how she wields her power in book two!

Lara and her sisters were taken away from their mothers by their father, the King of Maridrina, when they were 5 and trained to be the perfect spies and assassins. But only one daughter would be chosen to fulfill the marriage alliance with their enemy kingdom, Ithicana. As queen she would learn enough about the Ithicana to take over the highly sought after bridge that enables trade.

But as Lara becomes a part of Ithicana in order to destroy it, she's beginning to question everything she believes about the two kingdoms she's connected to. Will she fulfill her mission? Or will her loyalty be to Ithicana and its King?

"The Bridge Kingdom" has great world-building, likeable characters, political schemes, and--you guessed it!--romance.

I listened to the audiobook on the off-chance that I might like it, and I was surprised when I found a gem. Although it's high fantasy, there is no magical element to the story. It's set in a world completely different than ours with its own kingdoms, cultures, and politics. It ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, but I've started the second book and I can already tell I'm going to love it even more than the first. I'm excited to have a new fantasy series to explore!

This book is NON-STOP action. It's such a good sequel to The Bridge Kingdom with a satisfying ending. I spent every free minute that I had listening to the audiobook to find out what happened next.

I liked this book. I think that this and Stolen Songbird had a very interesting world and setting for the story. I like Marc's character and it was nice to find out more about him, and see things from his point of view before the events of Stolen Songbird.

I didn't like that The Broken Ones felt like it was almost spoiled because of how much information we were given in Stolen Songbird. Even though the book gave much more detail, there was very little suspense.
