I requested this book through the Early Reviewers program, because I am interested in taking up archery as a hobby. I found it quite useful, particularly for a beginner, as it reviews equipment, range design, and even stretching exercises. Definitely what I needed, as I have no prior knowledge of the differences between types of bows, what to look for when buying equipment, etc. Though I intend to use a recurve bow, I appreciated the sections on compound bows as well. Great book.

Very comprehensive and well laid out. The advice is cogent and worth absorbing. Beginners or those re-entering archery, like myself, will gain the most from this excellent manual.

I've never held a bow much less shot one but with the help of this book I think that I could. I look forward to beginning this new hobby.

This is an excellent and comprehensive guide for the beginner. The author has laid out the essential information and knowledge for a beginner to the sport of archery.

Her patient and concise prose gives any person with an interest in archery the necessary guide towards learning about this sport. Most importantly, she was able to do this regarding many of the different incarnations of archery. A definite guidebook for the archery enthusiast.
