Sobre mimI had to include this picture of me. My son goes around the house clicking pictures of whatever he sees most often-and this is how he sees me the most. :)
Like everyone else in this community, I'm a bookworm. I'm an information services librarian at a small university and I love it. I've also recently become head of our reference department, so life is very good. I used to be a biologist, but it got kind of squishy, so I changed careers to bring me closer to my true loves-books and research.
I have a five year old son-a bookworm in training.
Sobre a minha bibliotecaMy library pretty well follows my disparate interests. I've included all the books I own currently, ones that I've read recently that I've either borrowed or checked out from a library since I got my account (late 2006), and ones that I hope to get soon. I want this site to help me find more books and to remind myself of the books I already own that I really need to read.
I've decided to do something kind of crazy-read at least one book from every subject heading in the Library of Congress classification schedule...we'll see how that goes.
Might as well throw in a Dewey Decimal Challenge as well, and I track the progress here

I have just been splitting John Morris and, given your occupation, found one which should maybe be in the box as well ;-)

Then I noticed the talk about geckos.. have you see the Chet Gecko books? It is a hilarious children's series. It's a little too advanced for your 4 year old, but maybe when he's a little older?

Where I live, we never see geckos outside of pet stores, although one time I did find an iguana sunning itself in my front yard. THAT was interesting! Turned out it belonged to the people who lived in the house behind me; somehow it had gotten loose.

This gave me a giggle. As an elementary schooler, my husband was no longer allowed to see a friend of his once my husband cheerfully announced to his friend's conservative Christian parents, "My favorite tarot card is The Fool!" :)

you will reap the rewards, I promise. I swear , if I hear one more parent ask a child if he is ready to go
or wants to do this or that .. instead of telling them, it is time to leave, pick up your toys etc.. my head will explode.
Where I work, our classroom had an intervention of sorts because we use the word NO!
I never see parents holding hands or teaching kids that some things are not okay..
or mommy is the one in charge. Sheeesh!
Anyway.. I repeat.. Kudos to you.. and keep up the good work !

I'm Katie, we share some of the same groups here on LT. One of the them (just as a reminder) is Atwoodians, where I posted that I was from Austin and you said that it was the best place to live :p
I saw in a post that you attended the UNT online program, and I just wanted to ask you a few questions about admissions and what they look for in applicants. I'm not sure if that's something that you would want to answer or even could answer, but just let me know if it's okay if I pick your brain.
Thank you!

690 Building & construction: W. Hodding Carter: Flushed: How the Plumber Saved Civilization (surprisingly interesting book about the history of plumbing)

Hello Kaeli
Thank you for adding me as a friend. I wish you a pathway to the self where you live your highest truth and connect with the light inside. May yours be a soul centered life where you choose your dreams and may inner contentment and reverence for life be a garment that embraces your spirit.
Have a beautiful day.

She is very special, and does good things for our kids. I have reviewed several
from Hunter House, I think that was my favorite !
You have a tough but important job, raising a child with autism. Do not give up, work hard, love him...
but I have a feeling that you know that..
not all do.... sadly
