Provides an initial overview of the biological underpinnings of the human capacity to be reflective, then a discussion of the difference between reflection and reflexion (in a counselling context). There then follows details of the reflective practices of several differing approaches to therapy and how reflective modes are informed by their associated theories of personality and/or behaviour. Finally, a summation and proposed synthesis of reflective methods from the different approaches.

I found it helpful in focussing my own attitude to reflection as I prepare (as at the time of writing) to engage for the first time in counselling with 'real' clients. ( )
