Sobre mimI love high concept literary and YA fiction as well as the occasional sci-fi, thriller, and chick-lit novel.

Sobre a minha bibliotecaRight now, I have mostly just listed modern (post 1980) books that I have enjoyed reading over the past few years and that I recommend to friends and people I discuss books with.

Noticed that you liked The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here (as well as on a few other book-related sites). I thought you might like my novel since it's been compared to that novel by a number of reviewers. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like. Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Thanks,

Chris
Thanks for becoming a friend!

Olivia.
Hi, I just joined this site. I noticed that you're interested in Children's Books. Have you read The Fiscal Pear? Here's the site: http://fiscalpear.net/
You got to read an ARC of Rampant. Sigh. Lucky.

:)
I was wondering if I could get the contact name/info for The Customer is Always Wrong as well please Lenoreva? Thanks
I read your post about The Customer Is Always Wrong: The Retail Chronicles and would love the contact info if you would pass that along. It sounds funny...and sometimes you just need some funny, so I would like to try and snag a copy
I have to say, Ella Minnow Pea has been one of my favorite books this year. One of my friends is going to try to use it in her classes at her school. I use the concept of not using a specific word (or I try a variant, like not using the word 'the') in extra work for kids to do when I'm subbing. They really get into it when they realize that using certain words is just common and they have to come up with something different.

Thanks for the info too. I really appreciate it! :)
I did get a message back from the author and she has forwarded my request to the publicist. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Ooooh, you just reviewed another one I'm dying for - Paper Towns. (btw, in case you were worried I'm not hinting, I'll get them at some point or at least add them to my next Amazon order!) That's the first Green you've read?? Looking for Alaska is darker than Abundance of Katherines. If you ever have free time check out the John Green videos on youtube, he's a strange and funny guy.

Oh good, you have a blog that I can add to my blogreader instead of trying to remember to check your reviews every day!

Brenda
Hiya!

Just saw that you got The Knife of Never Letting Go, and I just mooched that recently - so I wandered over to take a look at your library. Wow, we have a lot of books in common (or would if I could just get my library/currently reading a little more updated!) Thanks for your reviews, I just added several to my wish list from there. I like Dystopia too, I'm dying to read Hunger Games - I've heard so much about it. I have Creepers in my TBR pile.

Currently reading Trouble - Gary Schmidt

Hello lenoreva,

Glad you liked my bit of doggerel verse.

For some more of The Tortoise wit be sure to join The Highly-Rated Book Group:

Nope, not yet. :-) If you're in the US, I'd be happy to send it out to you. Just leave me your mailing address. Happy Reading!
Yes, I did...about two days after I received your address. I'm sorry! I still have my copy that I can send you. I haven't gotten around to reading it yet, but I can send it to you as soon as I've finished it?
Very Cool! I was so surprised! Look forward to reading your review and comparing notes:)
Thanks for the link. I'll take a look at your review of Zoe's Tale after I've read the book and posted my own. My reading is piling up, but I'm looking foreward to making time for this one.
Thanks for the link to your blog and the book. I read a lot of middle and YA because I have four girls and two grandsons. Everyone wants me to read what they enjoy so we can talk about it.
Ok...I'll send it out to you by the weekend, then.
Hi-
Sorry for my delay in response. I was out of town on a business trip and got back a day later than planned.

I still have an extra copy of American Wife. Do you have bookmooch? If so, I can reserve it for you on there.
I got my copy of The Joy of Spooking today. Thank you so much! I can't wait to start reading. I skimmed the first chapter and it looks fantastic!
Yes I did get Creepers from SA. Arrived in today's mail. I forget when I requested it, but it wasn't that long ago.
I understand. Just let me know.
Hi: Thanks! I got it as a gift from my boyfriend - so I already have it. Its very sweet of you to remember me :)
Thanks for the advice, I think I got it figured out...I couldn't find anything about open source, but I opened comments up to "everyone" so hopefully that'll solve the problem. I hope you enjoy The White Mary!

Wow! you have won alot of books - I am not very lucky with the contests. Author Chris Mooney just sent me his new book (out in July) and so far its pretty good. A few other (less known) authors have asked me to read and review their books also.

If you ever feel like parting with Read My Lips can you let me know? I entered the contest but did not win and I would love to read the book.

Thanks alot and have a great day.
Hi: I was curious to find out which ARCS you managed to snag in the YA books? Thanks.
Actually, I've never heard of the band. It's a Stephenie Meyers "Twilight" icon made by a fan that I just adored. I'll have to go listen to the band now though. I'll tell ya what I think...
No, I am not on any list. I've been reviewing books for a year, six months was for a couple of promo companies, etc.

Thanks for the add! :)

Hi,

I got Petite Anglaise, A Town Like Paris, and Lost on Planet China. I haven't had a chance to read them yet, I just got them not too long ago.
I have finished reading No One You Know and will mail it off tomorrow. Thanks
Hi Lenore,
Thanks for your interest in Heart of Diamonds. I haven't heard anything from the news sources I monitor about a Spanish girl disappearing in the DRC, but nothing would surprise me, unfortunately. Hope all turns out well.
Dave
Hi Lenore. Just a note to let you know your book has been mailed. I am going to delete you post on my profile as it has your personal address on it. Can you let me know when you receive the book? I did mail it ground so it will take a little while to get there. Thanks.
The picture you chose for your profile really struck me because I have three feral cats who think our birdbath is just their huge water dish! In the winter, it's funny to see our cats tiptoeing precariously on top of thin ice in the birdbath to find a drink of water.

I checked your husband's pictures on hs daily blog and love them. What a terrific and whimsical illustrator he is!
Oh. Thank you for letting me read No One You Know first. I will read it ASAP and mail it off to you.

Thanks again
I'm going to put you second on the book ring ;) Hope you enjoy it when you get it :)
Thanks for the correction! Nothing like getting a key detail totally wrong. Ugh!
Hey - thanks for the comment and the review!
Re Escape from Amsterdam, yes the guy on the train remains in the story, but only as a background character. He's not really important. I read for enjoyment primarily. Someone with an interest in intepretation might make more of his occupation and the occupation of the main character's sister. I'm too much of a literalist to figure that out without some effort that I don't care to expend :)
Hi!

I read your post at Early Reviewers about how to modify a LiveJournal account so visitors can leave comments. Thank you, thank you for this info -- I haven't had the account very long and hadn't known that was an option. Thanks to you, I've opened my blog to accept comments from visitors.

I enjoyed your bookblog and when I'm not under a deadline crunch, I'll be sure to return and spend some more time there.

Thanks again for your helpful advice!

Karen
Hi: Thank you for letting me know. I am still a little new to this and I find it a little challenging - I think its fixed now though.
Nope, whenever I contact them (quite sporadically, I admit), they tell me that the advisory board is full and they don't need new members. Unfortunate, really :-( Let me know what they tell you!
